CONFESSION OF A TIME TRAVELLER
THEATRE / PERFORMANCE LECTURE

There are wounds on my body. Do you dare to see them?

Some I remember, and some that I don’t. There are memories of my family, yet no record. My grandmother told me stories of adventure, her adventure, and yet no record of that. My creative ancestors, are all absent from the record. The only way that I can remember them is through ritual. I ritual of rememberance through my body. I move back and forth through time and space, bring their presence into the present. That is how I remember.

This lecture explores themes of systemic oppression. Epistemic violence: of allowing archive and disallowing it, who is allowed to be remembered, and who isn’t. It explores the politics of memory, and who’s memory is considered history or record, and who’s is considered an annecdote.

The lecture is performed by lehry in response to his research at the Norwegian Theatre Academy between 2022-2024.
The performance was developed with the support of The Norwegian Theatre Academy and was part of an artistic research project of Lehry between 2022 - 2024.

The performance was staged at Acts of Affectual Seminar Hospitalities at Østfold Internasjonale Teater in 2023.
